Kites for Peace is back for it’s 6th event, and this year is promising to be more impactful and meaningful than ever! Kites for Peace is a movement for inner peace and our annual event, which is held in commemoration of the United Nations International Day of Peace, aims to inspire inner peace and appreciation of our beautiful spaces and our amazing people.

We invite you to fly kites, picnic and unwind with a great day out at the Botanical Gardens. We will once again be hosting the organisations of the Zimbabwe Cares Network who will be selling cool things and raising awareness of their causes!

There will be a great range of food available to suit everyone and we will have many activities to try out to inspire you to find your joy – including “Kicks for Peace” 7 a side soccer, skateboarding, yoga, art therapy, kite making workshops, scrabble and chess, dance workshops, creative activities and much more.

As always there will be live unplugged musicians and performers, dancers and acrobats for your entertainment as well as visual artists and a poetry corner.

Bring your picnic blanket, a water bottle and your loved ones and join us on the 29th of September for the Feel Good event of the year! stay tuned to this event page to see more of what we have in store this year ♡

COVID-19 Update

With the suspension of events due to the COVID-19 pandemic,  we are conducting online workshops with children and young adults in various communities.

Our workshops aim to empower children and spark innovative ideas.

Participants use locally available materials to create their kites. Scrap or otherwise discarded materials are also encouraged to build awareness of re-purposing.

Our workshops foster environmental awareness, appreciation and preservation.

They build confidence and teach children and the youth about the basics of positive peace.

Please get in touch if you would like to host one in your community!
